Copper Standing Seam Roofing
A lasting and beautiful solution to a problematic roof.
Originally covered in slate, this roof developed problems with ice dams and water backup in the harsh Cleveland | Shaker Hts., Ohio winters.
A low pitched slate roof combined with poor insulation and lack of ventilation enabled snow and ice to accumulate at the roof edge and eventually seep into the house after the original tar paper wore out. Subsequent layers of tar and asphalt shingles, seen below, did little to remedy the situation.
The new copper roofing eliminates the need for;
ice and water shield,
ice heating cables
snow removal after heavy snowfall.
